Jeff & Sandy Tied the Knot!

Jeff & Sandy on the Roof

Third Time's a Charm!

First time was at a friends’ backyard party in Brooklyn. Josh and Jeff were having a nonsensical conversation, which more or less bored Sandy away.

Second time was at a friends’ rooftop event in Brooklyn. Jeff wore a Basquiat t-shirt that piqued Sandy's interest. Sandy, being the conversationalist, sparked an open dialogue with him. "That's Basquiat. Nice!" she said. The brief conversation was interrupted by classic party commotion.

Third time was on a beautiful summer night in 2008. Jeff and Sandy were at another friends’ rooftop party where they were properly introduced to each other as the "other friend" who did not “drink,” quite a rarity in NYC. This time around, the conversation was beyond surface talk. Within a short time, they connected by sharing stories about their upbringings in small town America as Chinese kids in restaurant families. Even the variety of music they guiltily listened to was the same. Their conversation continued that night…and a wonderful friendship began…along with a fixed Macbook.

After a few months, a window of opportunity opened. Mutual friends invited them over for dinner. Jeff and Sandy revisited their third meet and what it meant to them both. The consensus. Serendipitous

Jeff and Sandy have been inseparable since.

Engagement

On a beautiful fall day in 2010, Jeff planned out a special two-year anniversary celebration for Sandy. The day started at their favorite Greenpoint brunch spot – Brooklyn Label. Afterwards, Jeff hurriedly and nervously drove Sandy an hour and half out of the City giving her no hint of where they were going. Sandy assumed a nice pumpkin-picking afternoon. Once the car pulled up the road, Sandy saw a field speckled by enormous weave baskets with neon-colored fabrics waiting to be fill with…hot air! Within hours, Jeff asked for Sandy’s hand in marriage. Sandy of course said YES!

As Individuals

Jeff

Born in the year of the Dragon in Hong Kong, Jeff immigrated to the quiet suburb town of Dobbs Ferry, New York at the age of six. He spent his collegiate years at Boston College. Soon after, he decided to follow his family's footstep to become an entrepreneur and built Eastmedia. Jeff’s side hobby is anything tech, but also loves cars and the Knicks.

Sandy

Born during the year of the Sheep in the state of Oklahoma, Sandy was raised briefly in Taiwan and grew up mostly in Houston, Texas. She spent her undergraduate years in Austin at Texas. During that time, she circumnavigated the world in three months on Semester at Sea. She moved to the Big Apple after backpacking through Europe and living in London for six months. Sandy has a fascination with containers and good design and hopes to feed that fascination with her new study in interior design.
